O. J. Estep ran five yards for the winning touchdown in.
overtime to give the Nitro High Wildcats a 20-14 triumph over winless
South Charleston Friday night at Nitro. The S.C. Black Eagles won
the toss in overtime but fumbled the ball away on first down. Nitro
then got its chance from the 10-yard line. A five-yard pass from.
Scott Dixon to Joe Rigney set up Estep's winning run. Nitro has a 2-2
record and S.C. is 0-5.
Dixon threw an eight-yard pass to Tim Cruse for the first Nitro
touchdown and Jeff Slater bucked one yard for the second TD. South
Charleston
got both its touchdowns in the second quarter when Wade
Walden broke away on a 53-yard run and Marc Henson ran one yard to
cap a drive.
The rushing leaders were Greg Bibbee of Nitro with 10 carries
for 27 yards and Chris Underwood of S.C. with 12 for 41. Nitro's
Dixon completed 11 of 19 passes for 189 yards while S.C.'s Henson
completed nine of 14 passes for 184 yards. The Eagles' Steve
Condaras caught four passes for 86 yards and Mike Bastian caught two
for 53 yards.
