DAVID STALNAKER KICKED HIS FIFTH FIELD GOAL OF THE YEAR AND
Nitro found the end zone three times in a 24-6 romp over visiting
Nicholas County from Summersville at Underwood Field on Friday night
The Wildcats' trips to the end zone ended a scoring slump.
Nitro had scored only two touchdowns in its previous six games.
Against Nicholas, Nitro exploded for 385 yards _ 326 on the
ground.
Chad Hemmings scored on a 23-yard run, Shannon Thomas
on a
three-yard run and Donnie Withrow on a three-yarder. Stalnaker's
field goal covered 30 yards.
Hemmings also intercepted three passes.
The win boosted Nitro's record to 3-6. Nicholas, which had won
three of its last four games, fell to 3-6.
Nitro ends its season at Poca next Friday night.
