J.R. House threw for 426
yards, but it was his 20-yard TD run that
staved off the upset-minded Skyhawks and clinched
Nitro's first
winning season since 1983.
Nitro, No. 8 in both the
Charleston Daily Mail Poll and the SSAC
ratings, got huge games from Zack Collins and Robbie Sigman.
Collins
rushed for 105 yards on 14 carries with three TDs,
and he caught five
passes for 138 yards and another score. Sigman caught
11 passes for
233 yards and a touchdown.
The Wildcats kept
their lead in the MSAC Gold Division, improving to
6-1 overall and 5-0 in the league.
Scott fell to 1-6 overall
and 0-5 in the MSAC Gold, but not before
Josh Pearson rushed for 144 yards and a TD. Fullback Jeremy Knapp
rushed for 77 yards, and Scottie Green added 84 yards and two TDs.
