St. Albans and Nitro can clinch ties for their respective Mountain
State Athletic Conference division titles with victories tonight.

The Red Dragons, who visit Huntington, are 7-1 overall and 5-0 in the
MSAC Blue Division. They have two conference games remaining against
the Highlanders and Capital.

The Cougars (6-1, 3-1) and Parkersburg (5-2, 3-1) are on the heels of
St. Albans. Capital and the Big Reds shared the Blue Division crown
last year with 7-1 marks.

Nitro, which hosts DuPont tonight, is 6-1 overall and 5-0 in the MSAC
Gold Division. The Wildcats have league matchups remaining against the
Panthers and Herbert Hoover.

The Huskies (5-2, 3-1) are the defending Gold champs and still in the
title hunt this year. Hoover was 7-0 in league play in '95.

A STREAK will end tonight when DuPont visits the Wildcats, rated sixth
in Class AAA in this week's Secondary School Activities Commission
ratings.

The Panthers (3-4) have lost four straight after opening this season
with three consecutive victories. Nitro, 20-33-1 in its series against
DuPont, has not defeated the Panthers since a 7-0 victory in 1989. The
'Cats have lost six straight to DuPont.
