NITRO HAS dominated its series against Winfield in the 1990s, winning
six of the seven games between the schools, including last year by a
convincing 52-6.

The Wildcats visit Winfield tonight where the Generals, under new
Coach Bruce McGrew, hope to end the state's longest losing streak - 25
games.

Nitro Coach Little Burdette will start a freshman, 6-foot, 175-pound
Josh Ward.

"He came out the second week with the rest of the freshmen and kind of
caught everybody's eye,' Burdette said.

Ward's move to QB allowed junior Chris Martin to return to his best
position - wideout - where he caught 67 passes for 1,200 yards last
year.
