The rumors were flying during halftime of Nitro's 36-23 victory over
DuPont last week.

One report said Nitro standout running back Zack Collins, who had
suffered an injury early in the first quarter and would not return,
was probably done for the season.

Not even close.

In fact, Wildcat Coach Robert "Little' Burdette said Collins might
even play Friday against Herbert Hoover, although he's listed as
doubtful.

Collins, Nitro's leading rusher and receiver going into the DuPont
game, has a sprained ankle.

"Certainly,' Burdette said, "we think he'll be back for the
playoffs.'

Nitro (7-1) hosts Hoover at 7:30 p.m. Friday. It's the regular season
finale for the Wildcats, who scheduled only nine games after dropping
Poca from their slate.

The playoffs begin Nov. 14.
