Poca is feeling the pinch from Nitro's decision to discontinue the
rivalry between neighboring schools.

The Dots would have been underdogs against the Wildcats, but likely
would have made the playoffs with an upset. A Poca victory would have
given the Dots a rating of 7.8 to 8.0, with 7.9 the best bet. That
would likely propel the Dots past two of three teams currently tied
for 15th in Class AA, if not all three.

Such a game would have little effect for Nitro, ranked fourth in Class
AAA. A victory over Poca would not change the Wildcats' picture, and
the Wildcats would stay in the top eight even with a loss.

Both teams played nine-game schedules, and are idle this week.
