Sophomore Raymond Knox ran for 220 yards and two touchdowns on just eight carries Friday night and fullback Jeremy Collins added four scores to lift host Logan to a 38-21 win over Nitro.


Knox scored twice in the first half on runs of 80 and 90 yards as the Wildcats (4-3) took a 26-7 lead at halftime. Collins scored on runs of 13, 5 and 3 yards and a 45-yard interception return. He finished with 120 yards on 28 carries.


Logan intercepted Nitro quarterback Derek Midkiff five times, but Midkiff did throw for 388 yards and a pair of touchdowns, a 19-yarder to running back Chris McGhee and a 24-yarder to Lance Ervin. McGhee, one of the top running backs in the Mountain State Athletic Conference, managed just 19 yards on nine carries.


The Wildcats ran for 339 yards and did not commit a turnover.
