Tinsley reportedly declines job offer

Nitro football coach Scott Tinsley apparently won't be taking a job in Pawleys Island, S.C.

The Myrtle Beach Sun News reported Saturday that Tinsley had declined an offer to work as offensive coordinator at Waccamaw High School in Pawleys Island. Tinsley had said recently he was considering the job.

"He was really interested," Waccamaw coach Bernie Bourne told the newspaper. "I think it came down to the family thing, which is usually what it comes down to. We would have liked to have had him, though."

The move would have reunited him with Waccamaw assistant Robert Burdette, a former Nitro football coach.

Tinsley, who was unavailable Sunday, also coaches softball and girls basketball at Nitro.
