At the suggestion of veteran Poca trainer Bruce Knell, the Dots delayed the start of
their game against Nitro to 8:30 p.m., an hour later than normal, to reduce the
possibility of heat stroke.
“This game is not for the fans or the
coaches; it’s for the players,’’ he said. Friday’s high temperature was 98.
Poca has added a
visiting locker room behind the main concession stand at O.O. White Stadium.
