From staff reports
Friday November 02, 2007
The Scott High football program reached another milestone on
Friday night at University of Charleston Stadium, despite a loss to Class AA
power Bluefield.
Running back Jordan Roberts ran for 292 yards on 29 carries which
helped him pass former Nitro star and current University of Charleston running
back Josh Culbertson as the state's 10-game, single-season record-holder for
rushing yards.
In the Skyhawks' 35-25 loss to Bluefield (10-0), Roberts pushed his 10-game total to 2,863 yards on 229 carries. Culbertson, who won the 2005 Kennedy Award, ran for 2,744 yards in 10 games during his senior season, but had 3,587 yards in 14 games that year.
