CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Nitro's Mark Chandler is The Associated Press state high school football player of the week for his dominating performance in a 42-41 win over Hurricane.

After Hurricane built a 28-0 lead in the second quarter, Chandler ran for touchdowns of 47, 1 and 3 yards, returned an interception 66 yards for a score and threw three TD passes, including a 25-yarder to Larry West with 2 seconds left in the game.

Chandler completed 14-of-19 passes for 300 yards and ran 16 times for 134 yards.
